Russell “Russ” Maine, 48, of Cogswell, ND, passed away April 13, 2012 at his home.

Russell Dean was born on July 17, 1963 at Jamestown, North Dakota to Alfred Jr. and Jennie (Ashbaugh) Maine. He grew up in Jamestown, where he attended Jamestown Public School. After his schooling, he worked with his dad at Maine Floor Covering. Russ was united in marriage to Julie Serfoss on August 15, 1990. In 1996, Russ moved to Cogswell and continued in the business with his brother, Rod. Russ took pride in his work, and was very particular with each job he did making sure it was done to the best of his ability. He loved any kind of racing, especially enjoying dirt bike, stock car, and go-cart racing. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and hunting, and his favorite hunts were in the Badlands with family and friends.

He is survived by two children, Alyson (Eric) Dahl, Fargo, ND, and Adam Maine, Cogswell, ND; three brothers, Rod Maine, Cogswell, ND, Rick Maine and Randy Maine, both of Portland, OR; and a sister, Laurinda (David) Flaks, Colorado Springs, CO. Russ was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

A memorial service for Russ will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes, ND. His wishes were to be cremated and he wanted everyone to remember him as he was.
