Anna K. Bonnett

Anna K. Bonnett, 86, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Oakes, ND, died July 3, 2012, at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND.

Anna Katherine was born December 13, 1925 at Lisbon, North Dakota to John and Hazel (McDonald) Wilcox. She attended school in Stirum, graduating from Stirum High School in 1943. She then attended Valley City Teachers College, earning her teaching certificate in 1945. Anna taught school in Washington, California, and North Dakota. While teaching in California, Anna met her husband, George Bonnett. They were married on July 10, 1947 at Milnor, North Dakota. Anna and George lived in California until 1950, when they returned to North Dakota and bought a farm near Stirum. George passed away on July 1, 1992. Anna continued to live on the farm until 1995, when she moved to Oakes. In 2006, Anna moved to Fargo.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Tore Bratvold) Bergemann, Lisbon, ND; a son, Roy (Valerie) Bonnett, West Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Curtis Bergemann, Fargo, ND, Rita (Travis) Goltz, Leonard, ND, Paul (Amy) Bonnett, Glyndon, MN, and Angie Bonnett, Fargo, ND; five great-grandchildren, Ivy Bergemann, Tanner Goltz, Libbie Bonnett, Luke Bonnett and Lane Bonnett; and three nephews, Lee, Donnie, and Greg Swanson. Anna was preceded in deatth by her parents, her husband, George, an infant son, and a sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Harvey Swanson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Oakes, ND, with the funeral mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Oakes.
