Joanne Wells, 67, of Milnor, ND, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton, ND.

Joanne Scholz, daughter of John and Irene (Maynard) Scholz was born January 5, 1945 at St. Paul, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Wells on April 24, 1964 at Forman, North Dakota. They made their home in Milnor, where Joanne lived for the rest of her life. Over the years, she worked at the Milnor Improvement Bar, Mary’s Café, Dahlgren’s,Bison C Store, and the Veteran’s Home, Lisbon, and Sargent Manor, Forman as a nurses aid. Joanne was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Dawn (Greg) Wells, Wahpeton, ND, Deanne Wells, Lisbon, ND, and Bonnie Wells of Massachusettes; a sister, Jackie (Harold) Futrell, Veterans Home in Lisbon, ND; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, an infant child, and her husband, Jim who died March 11, 2005.

Visitation will be Monday, January 30, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Milnor. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Milnor, with burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Milnor.
