The funeral for Frances Weber of LaMoure, ND, will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, LaMoure, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service also at the church. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery near LaMoure.
Frances Waldie, daughter of Clayton and Monica (Hemmer) Waldie was born January 25, 1920 near Dickey, North Dakota. Frances graduated from Marion High School. She then attended Valley City State Teacher’s College, and was later employed with Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington. She was united in marriage to Ervin Weber on December 5, 1943 at Asbury Park, New Jersey. After the war, Frances and Ervin returned to the Dickey, North Dakota area, and farmed six miles east of Dickey, on the farm which Frances was born. The couple purchased the Lou Thomas farm three miles north of LaMoure in September of 1956, where they operated a dairy and grain farm. In 1978, they retired and made their home in Sun City, Arizona. The couple returned to LaMoure in 1999. Ervin died on March 25, 2006, and Frances continued to make her home in LaMoure. Frances was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Triads Homemakers Club, the American Legion Auxiliary Post #19, and while living in Sun City, she was a member of the Harmony Organ Club. Frances enjoyed ceramics, knitting, cooking, and keeping up to date with current events.
Frances passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011, at the Oakes Community Hospital. She was 91 years old.
She is survived by two sons, Ross (Diana) Weber, LaMoure, ND and Morris Weber, Rowland Heights, CA; a daughter, Bernadette Davis, Scottsdale, AZ; eight grandchildren, Nola Radermacher, Casselton, ND, Thomas Weber, Otsego, MN, Allison Arbach, Bismarck, ND, Natalie Weber, Jamestown, ND, Don Weber, La Habra, CA, Ryan Weber, Huntington, Beach, CA, John Davis and Katelin Miller, both of Scottsdale, AZ; and five great-grandchildren, Grant and Sydney Radermacher, Blaine Weber-Swierczek and Blake Seefeld, and Ella Arbach. She is also survived by a brother, Thomas (Jeannette) Waldie, Marion, ND; and a sister, Celia Wallace, Brainerd, MN. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ervin, a brother, Richard Waldie, and a sister, Jean Harr.
Frances' family prefers memorials to be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
